ABSTRACT Beyond mere historical or epic narratives, the literature of the Sacred Defense in Iran serves as a realm for redefining sublime religious concepts. Central to this movement is the fundamental semantic link between "poetic experience" and "sacred concepts" such as revelation and prophethood. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this study examines how concepts of revelation (divine inspiration and intuitive insight) and prophethood (e.g., the mission of raising awareness and issuing warnings) manifest in Sacred Defense poetry, using the works of Salman Herati as a case study. The findings reveal that Herati, through clear language and imagery rooted in a religious milieu, redefines the poet’s role as both a "messenger of truth" and an "eyewitness to the event." In his poetry, revelation is not an abstract concept but crystallizes as a momentary unveiling of the truth of the war, while prophethood manifests through social commitment and the struggle against oppressors. The study concludes that by intertwining epic elements with prophetic concepts, Herati has created a form of "ritual epic" in which the poet of resistance acts as the heir to the prophetic mission in the modern era.
